The Jersey Data Protection Association
The Jersey Data Protection Association was established with a number of clear objectives:
- To provide a networking forum for Jersey’s data protection community: bringing together Data Protection Officers, those tasked with Data Protection and those with a broader interest or responsibility in data protection to discuss and collate trends, challenges and themes which can be fed back anonymously into Government and the Information Commissioner on behalf of members.
- To maintain dialogue with the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC) and the Government of Jersey in order to understand hot topics and upcoming changes in regulation and legislation which may impact the membership
- To raise awareness across the islands business community in relation to the Principles of Data Protection and the Jersey Data Protection Law
- To raise awareness of Individuals Data Rights amongst Jersey citizens
- To provide regular updates to members on Hot Topics and developments in Regulation, Legislation and Enforcement actions
